The history of Eckerö Post & Customs house

Eckerö Post & Tullhus is a magnificent empire-style facility that was completed in 1828 during Tsar Nikolai I’s reign.
The house was designed by the architect Carl Ludvig Engel and is considered one of Engels’ most important buildings.
Eckerö Post & Tullhus is today one of the best-preserved empire buildings in Finland and was declared a listed building in 2018.
